fittings and riggings 10

Here we have the boat upended with the stern in a trough of warm water. The water helps the epoxy resin to cure relatively quickly, but without it overheating and subsequently splattering itself all over the interior - not nice. I do the end pour of resin by fitting an improvised funnel made from cut up plastic pots inside the cargo compartment. Then armed with a minature bucket filled with resin, I poke my head through the deck hatch to see what I am doing, and simply tip the resin down the funnel and leave it to cure for a few days before flipping the kayak the other way up and then doing the bow end pour.

Quite a palaver, but well worth the effort.
