The bow and stern tips need to be reinforced with solidified blocks of epoxy resin. These are made by standing the kayak on its ends and pouring liquid resin down into the far reaches of the cargo holds. This operation is called an 'end pour' and helps prevent any damage to the bow and stern caused by bumping into rocks underwater. Holes are then bored from one side of each block of solidified resin through to the other to take a pair of carrying handles. So in order to get the kayak out of the hayloft and down into the groundfloor area of the barn to acheive this - and not damage the finish - I wrap the kayak in a cocoon of bubble wrap and clingfilm.

Looks a bit weird, doesn't it?
