At this stage of the cure, the excess epoxy-silica glue is removed after being squeezed out of the puzzle joints. For this, I use what is called a cabinet scraper, a piece of tool steel with a wickedly sharp set of burrs that run along both sides of a straight edge. These burrs shave away the glue with the action of a razor - but without removing any of the precious wood underneath.
