assembling the hull 04

After alignment, the panels are teased apart from their puzzle joints, and the joints are slathered with epoxy resin mixed with silica, also known as powdered glass. For the sake of convenience, let's call this material 'epoxy-silica'. The epoxy resin soaks into the wood, and the silica acts as a reservoir that holds the epoxy in place while preventing the joint itself being 'starved' of glue.
